 HOW TO USE GAME GUARDIAN

After successfully installing game guardian, you can begin testing it out on games. After a successful installation you should get 2 icons as the one shown below

For some devices it can be either of the two  don’t worry about this go on to click on either of the Icons to bring up an interface click start as shown below

This is the main game guardian interface, from here click start as shown above to bring up the floating game Guardian window. As soon as you have this floating window you are ready to begin changing values .I will be using tap counter to demonstrate how to search and edit using game guardian

I will be using tap counter as an example here but the same concept can be replicated for any game.I will show you how to search for any value that is not encrypted after which I will show you how to search for encrypted values.

I will be using tap counter as an example here but the same concept can be replicated for any game.I will show you how to search for any value that is not encrypted after which I will show you how to search for encrypted values.

 GAME GUARDIAN VALUE TYPES

Before we begin learning how to search  we need to learn the different data types that can be searched on game guardian they include

DWORDs are just simple numbers. The storage size for DWORD type is 4 bytes.

e.g : 1, 5, 778, 999847489

FLOATs are numbers with a decimal point,

e.g: 2.5, 67.5, 8944.9938

DOUBLEs are same as floats, but it can store much larger values

WORDs – Same as DWORD, but store much smaller numbers (2 bytes), in programming this type is called INT .

BYTEs – Same as DWORD, but only one byte is reserved for the value.

QWORDs – Just a bigger number, same as DWORD with bigger storage size.

XORs – they are not type of number, it is encryption used in some games.

NON ENCRYPTED SEARCH

Now that you’ve learned about the data types we will begin by learning how to search for values. I will use the tap counter app to demonstrate how to search and edit values. The tap counter apps adds a tap each time you tap your screen. We will be modifying these apps with gameguardian.

SELECTING THE GAME PROCESS

Before performing a search you need to select the process that you want to perform your search on. For my case here I will select the tap counter process as shown in the image below

After this I will select the known (exact )search button (icon that resembles a magnifying glass ) and I will perform a search for the number of taps I currently have (17)  as shown below. Make sure to select the “=” sign.

Game Guardian has different symbols that determine how you want to perform your search they include:

“=” Search for the the value one we input.

“!=” Search for values not equal to the value we input.

“<” Search for values less than the one we input.

“>”Search for values greater than the one we input.

After this I will click on new search as shown below

After this a new dialogue will pop up asking you to select the data type you want to search for. The most common data type on most android games is Dword. Select the data type you want to search for I will select Dword as shown in the Image below.

After that the search will begin immediately but you will realize  you Find a lot of results which upon editing will crash your game to avoid this we will refine the search to get fewer results. I will now go ahead to reduce the number of taps I have to 10 after which I’ll refine as shown in the Image below

Now that I have less than 10 results I can safely edit to change my taps click on the pencil icon as shown in the Image below then input your new value I will edit it to 999999.When I increase my taps I get 99999 as shown below.

This same concept can be replicated on any other game or app. All you need to do is search for a value after which you’ll keep on changing and refining and finally edit.

ENCRYPTED SEARCH

Sometimes game developers will encrypt values such that when you attempt to perform a direct you will not find any results even after refining. Fortunately game guardian has a feature to handle such occurrences.

WHAT IS AN ENCRYPTED VALUE

Sometimes you may have 1000 gems or coins in a game but the real value is not saved as 1000, it can be anything that the developer wants to eg 1000 ammo saved as 256790383345.there is no way you’d guess such a number to search and edit for this we use the inbuilt encrypted search in game guardian

This feature is found under the Known (exact )search you will use the same steps as we did the first time only this time you will tick the encrypted search option ”The value is encrypted” as shown in the Image below

This search usually takes longer as more results will be found but it’s more precise and likely to get even the values that are not stored as they appear.
